So I started to do my homework on what could accommodate the eight CD player units, three reel-to-reel tape decks, two studio microphones, several monitor speakers, a DAT recorder, and other devices I had in my studio inventory. There were quite a few choices out there when it came to broadcast consoles but I kept my eyes focused on the Audioarts Air 2+ Plus.
The specs were impressive and it had all of the features (and more!!!) that I could use at the present time. Features such as the external start of the CD player units, the built-in cue speaker, control room monitor, control room mute/tally, VU meter pairs, etc. are what you would normally find on a console that cost a few thousand dollars more but the Air2+ console offered all these plus more at a fraction of the cost. I was sold on the Air2+ Plus' price tag. One more thing that sold me --was the technical manual !!!.
I am content in what I have added to my studio equipment to date but there's one item that brings it all together -- the Audioarts Air2 + Plus console! The support at Wheatstone/Audioarts is there, too. I am very proud of my console and now that I am retired I have more time to really enjoy it!"
